Carousel 24x30
Carousel 24x30
There were all of the fancy institutions. Trafalgar Square. Downing Street. Big Ben. The crowd was the thickest I had been in for many years. There was an aquarium and a Shrek museum too. I couldn't come to grips with the number of people I was trying to walk through. Elbow to elbow. Feet being stepped on. Strollers, dogs, vendors selling popcorn. Horns honking busy sreets. It was hell on Earth, with everything to see. Anything that makes me feel like I am working in a crowded restaurant in the slightest makes me stop whatever it is I am doing so I can take a deep breath and reassess my surroundings.
When we finally got out of that crowd there was a giant neon graffitied skate park. A man on a skateboard smoking a joint floated up to me, pop-locking as he rolled along. All the stress of walking in the crowd melted away. We kept walking and came across a giant carousel. I was in awe of the neon color combinations of brass, silver and neon & kept mumbling about how someday I would paint this feeling - of walking past all of the big remarkable things to find the brightest and feel that instead.
