11x14 - My collector of this custom piece is wild, opulent, fun, sophisticated, and looks like a Charlie’s angel. This painting was made especially for her office, a way to accept and appreciate the beauty of chaos
“All substances give the illusion of permanence, but in fact are only representations of varying states of energy.” The chaos you perceive all around you is really just your expansive optimism. You let everyone in! You love people, and nights out, and dinner, and fun. Your expressive presence is unmatched, you are without a doubt one of the biggest personalities I have ever met. Your kindness and generosity have always made Kevin and I feel like your family. Thank you for that gift, and the gifts you give to so many by just being you. You have had a whirlwind of a year and I think it can be confusing and downright frustrating uprooting everything, packing it and finding a place for everything.
Which, with the past crazy year we have all had is a perfect metaphor for how life on Earth feels right now. I have it too. Especially with tape, scissors and staplers. I put it down, I lose it, I pick up a new one and lose it. Over and over and over. And it doesn’t feel like a pretty picture, at all.
I wanted to paint you something elegant and sharp, fierce and radiant but all placed in a way that captures the whole equation of chaos in form. There is a beauty in the storm - in the whole picture - in the way you are, the way life can feel that when we are in the midst of it is easy to forget. I hope every time you see this painting you take a moment to step outside of the busyness to remember that you are grounded. You are illuminated. You are perfect. You are the peace and the storm, the dark black and the bright light.
I named her Chaos of Angels because she looks like an angel to me, and isn’t that all that any of us really are anyway? In form, on this planet, trying to figure it all out.
