The Otherworld is like unexpectedly feeling alive because of the smell of fresh cut grass. In the garden district of a state down south I was only passing through long enough to have pancakes at a diner. The kind of diner that was a diner just to be a diner not some planned concept of a diner. There is a realm of grounded to the earth possibility that each of us has - maybe it’s a pitch of color and light at the perfect moment, or the way hope brings out nostalgia. Where the ideas are organic, not concepts just for show and in turn, profit.
Which is an otherworld, entirely. This painting is a portrait of the unexpected that comes together, through all of the senses, and brings up surprising feelings of feeling joyously alive.
