10x10. When I had 60 days clean in 2010 I went to my home group to say goodbye to my friend Dan and all of the nice people that had helped me. That day it was only him and one other person. I thought I was cured and didn’t need recovery. I have no idea what they told me that day, but I stayed.
In 2013 I was visiting Chicago from where I had moved, Las Vegas & went to a random yoga class. Hadn’t seen Dan in years or talked to him. When I walked in there he was. I’ve always told that story with a laugh that when I notice the synchronicity it’s god telling me I’m in the right place. And I should probably do more yoga.
Haven’t spoken with Dan besides an occasional Facebook comment since.
This morning I was the speaker for a 700 person meeting online. I was so afraid.
In that meeting, there were 100 odd hands raised to share after me, which they call at random.
There he was, on the screen, called on to speak. Happened to be in that meeting and get called on. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. One of the most surreal moments of my life.
I can’t believe I could have missed all of this. This canvas is a quick jolt of light, joy & hope, when I’m aware enough to see the clarity of it.. I’m going to start an experiment of selling smaller canvases for less. I’ll put them all up with pricing later next week.
Also I’ve listened to jane says, the live version with the kettle whistle, about 79 times since yesterday. It’s always sounded like life coming together, despite life being life, to me.
