This painting is about what it feels like to hike in the sun & mist of the San Simeon peninsula, my favorite place in the country so far. I believe she perfectly captures the feeling of walking out of the forest and into the salt mist at sunset while looking over a cliff out to the endless Pacific Ocean. There is a clarity in those moments that I cannot define with words, only movement, and color.
